This small textile city in Poland just north of Lodz was home to Jews, Germans and Poles for over 100 years. This book deals with the history, challenges, and finally with the destruction of the Jewish population of the city.
The survivors published a memorial book in 1975 in Hebrew and Yiddish. That very limited distribution deserved to be available to an English speaking audience and was the driving force for this book.
